I'm Molly Weatherby, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and then went on to gain my Masters of Science degree from the University of North Texas in Counseling Psychology.
My counseling experience includes working in community agencies, private practice, public schools and college campuses. My specialties include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions such as divorce, relocation, retirement, graduations, and adolescent issues revolving around identity formation. After living in Austin many years, I relocated to New Braunfels in 2010 and started my private practice shortly after.
I truly enjoy my work as a counselor, and feel honored when a client or a family lets me into their private lives. Above all, my approach is to provide a warm, non-judgmental, and inviting space where you can expect to be fully accepted. I believe acceptance, and my ability to understand the world through your eyes, are the first steps in the counseling relationship. I believe the counseling relationship is a collaborative one: I'll be working hard to help identify patterns that are leaving you feeling stuck, and engaging you to look at challenges with a new perspective. I firmly believe that our thoughts about our experiences affect our emotional responses to them, like Alfred Adler, the founder of individual psychology, states: "We are not determined by our experiences, but are self-determined by the meaning we give to them."
I have extensive experience addressing the following issues with clients:
